  • 19-21.03.2015 Display of the Izera Dark-Sky Park at the tourist fair Euroregion Tour 2015 in Jablonec nad Nisou.   • 8.03.2013 Polish Starry-Sky Park Bieszczady was established. Together with slovak Dark-Sky Park Poloniny constitute one of the largest dark-sky area in the world. The park was created in similar way as Izera Dark-Sky Park.
  • 4.03.2013 Czech-slovak Beskydy Dark-Sky Park was established. This is the second bilateral dark-sky park in the world. The park was created in similar way as Izera Dark-Sky Park.

  • 6.10.2012 The 6th Astronomical Day in Izera Dark-Sky Park will take place in Świeradów Zdrój at upper station of the cable railway (mountain Stóg Izerski). The event starts at 3 pm.
  • 16.-19.08.2012 The 7th edition of all-Poland Astronomical Meeting took place in Orle.
  • 11.08.2012 „Starry night” in the Museum of the Jizera Mountains (Jizerka). The program of the event included night sky observations and chats about the planets of the Solar System.

  • 25.11.2011 Harrachov resolution prohibiting illumination of the sky for advertising and entertainment entered into force. Moreover, street lights modernization was carried out in Harrachov to lower spending on the lighting. New lighting fixtures reduce the amount of light escaping without the benefit to the sky. Both activities contribute to the reduction of the light pollution in Harrachov and its surroundings. Decisions taken in Harrachov are welcome by organizations which recognized Izera Dark-Sky Park, as the town is located in the vicinity of the park.

  • 27.08.2011 Astronomical picnic in Orle. The program of the event included exhibition of astro-photos, demonstration of astronomical equipment, chats with astronomers and lectures.

  • 3.12.2010 Dark Sky Park Poloniny (Park tmavej oblohy Poloniny) was established in Eastern Slovakia. Izera Dark-Sky Park was a partner of the opening ceremony of the park Poloniny.
  • 18.09.2010 The 2nd Astronomical Day in Izera Dark-Sky Park. The event took place at upper station of the cable railway (mountain Stóg Izerski) in Świeradów-Zdrój. The program included interesting astronomical lectures and telescopic observations of the Sun and the night sky.
  • 21.08.2010 „Starry night” in Museum of the Jizera Mountains (Jizerka) organized by Czech Union for Nature Conservation Jizerka and astronomers from the Astronomical Club of Liberec. The event program included sky observations and chats about the universe.

  • 4.11.2009 Opening ceremony of the Izera Dark-Sky Park connected with a press conference. The ceremony took place in Jizerka in mountain hut Pyramida.
  • 20.09.2009 Organizations collaborating on Izera Dark-Sky Park met in Orle. A memorandum was prepared. Details and date of the park opening ceremony was agreed.
  • 21.03.2009 The first conference on light pollution entitled „Izera Mountains - far north and stars within reach: or, what connects darkness, stars, nature and tourists” took place in the seat of Forestry Commission Świeradów. The light pollution problem, way to reduce the pollution and activities for darkness conservation were discussed during the first two sessions of the conference. The third part of the conference were dedicated to development of astrotourism in Izera Mountains including realization of Izera Projects. Particular emphasis was placed on plan of establishing of the Izera Dark-Sky Park. The conference programme along with abstracts of presented talks is available in pdf (in Polish).

    • 2008

  • 2.08.2008 Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic stated collaboration in establishing the Izera Dark-Sky Park.
  • 07.2008 Izera Projects included in the events celebrating the International Year of Astronomy 2009.

    • 2007

  • 14.12.2007 Meeting in the Forestry Commission Szklarska Poręba dedicated to the creation of the Polish-Czech educational-recreational path. The Izera Projects were presented to the local community. Owing to this the Forestry Commission Świeradów stated to collaborate on realisation of the Izera Projects. The project of dark sky park in Izera Mountains emerged and become a part of the Izera Projects
  • 5-7.11.2007 Birth of the Izera Projects - an idea of combining astronomy popularization with tourism in the Izera Mountains The idea arose during the first edition of School Workshop on Astronomy in Orle.
